Itinerary description
Cycling - Gorgeous weather for a Sunday ride through the lush hilly territory east of town.
Not a cloud, a gentle breeze, and cool temperature at last after the hottest summer ever recorded for the area even at high elevation.
Continuous ups-and-downs. Mostly paved on minor roads, except for a section after the Abbey which is not suitable to road bikes - although doable with gravel tires.
Spectacular views, from high points, over the Alps from the Maritimes to the Monte Rosa group.
The Abbey of Vezzolano is one of several Romanesque-Gothic jewels east of Torino.
Stunning frescoes from the XII and XIII centuries.
The Rete Romanica di Collina (Romanesque Network through the Hills) is an extensive network of trails connecting the various sites of interest in the area. Other than on foot, most are suitable for bike and horse rides.
