Itinerary description
Carcassonne, Canal du Midi, Trebes.
The ride began in the free car park by the old bridge (pont Vieux). Ride through the town to the station and pick up the Canal du Midi. From here it is an easy 9 mile ride along the canal to the town of Trebes.
Here, cross over the river and take the D3, eventually taking a right to Montirat. This section is all on quiet roads and easy.
From Montirat there is a forest track which leads to Carcassonne Lake. Ride around the lake and follow the road and then a track back to Carcassonne, arriving behind the Cite, then down the hill and over the bridge back to the start.
The ride is easy until you hit the off road section, which I would describe as moderate. A nice ride out on a mountain bike.
