Itinerary description

This is a beautiful trail and it is part of the Lebanese Mountain Trail section 17. For full details check the LMT website:

https://www.lebanontrail.org/trail-description/17

This is supposed to be MTB friendly in both directions. I started in Bmahrai and I was hoping to make to the Beirut-Damascus highway and back.
Unfortunately I was only able to bicycle the initial part of the trail and the last part (near the Beirut-Damascus highway). Everything in between those sections was too steep for me or too rocky (definitely not enough experience to do then on a bicycle) except for very small stretches.
So when I reached the highway I opted not to come back the same way but instead I came back on the asphalt. This meant riding down on the Beirut-Damascus highway to Ain-Dara and from there back to Bmahrai. Riding on the highway was not really fun but once I was off of it the ride became more enjoyable.
In retrospect if I had done both this part of section 17 and the other one that I called Falougha (Part of LMT section 17) first on foot I would have probably decided not to do them by bicycle or only specific parts.
On foot the whole section would be very enjoyable.

Note: By foot the trail is considered difficult. I put very difficult because I tried it with the bicycle.
