Beigua 2 (Varazze – Beigua – AV – Casa Bandita – Sassello – Foresta della Deiva – Giovo Ligure – Polzemola – Alpicella – FS )

Dalla piazza del Comune di Varazze si sale lungo la provinciale di Pontinvrea, si gira a destra per Casanova seguendo le indicazioni per Faie prima, per il rifugio Pratorotondo poi.
Giunti in vetta al Monte Beigua seguiamo la traccia dell'Alta Via dei Monti Liguri. Passiamo il primo bivio per Veirera fino ad arrivare al bivio per Sassello/ casa della Bandita / Colle Bergnon che stacca a destra rispetto all'AV., quindi seguiamo la traccia che si addentra nella suggestiva faggeta. La discesa non presenta alcuna difficoltà tecnica, tuttavia in autunno occorre prestare attenzione al terreno per via del fogliame che si deposita sul sentiero nascondendo così eventuali ostacoli.
Giunti al bivio seguiamo la traccia sulla destra che si addentra nel Castagneto della Lupa e in breve raggiungiamo l'abitato di Sassello; proseguendo per la suggestiva sterrata della Foresta della Deiva, dopo una breve risalita, si procede a mezzacosta per poi prendere la traccia a sinistra e risalire al Bric Riund, raggiungendo in breve la località di Giovo Ligure. Seguiamo la strada provinciale del Sassello per un breve tratto e giunti al bivio teniamo la destra in direzione Via dei Rocchi. Da qui si segue il collegamento con l'AV tenendo sempre la destra e tralasciando ogni bivio. La sterrata attraversa i suggestivi Prati del Prezzemolo. Attraversiamo una strada bianca e riprendiamo subito il sentiero a sinistra passando per la bella zona denominata Polzemola ricongiungendoci alla strada provinciale nei pressi di Alpicella.
Proseguiamo sulla provinciale fino al quadrivio dove imbocchiamo la strada sterrata di fronte a noi, seguiamo il single track a sinistra che effettua un traverso sotto a Bric Cavetto, arrivando nei pressi della discarica. Attraversiamo un breve tratto di asfalto che abbandoniamo subito svoltando a sinistra seguendo la sterrata che porta all'attacco del trail FS che, con una serie di compressioni e rilanci pedalati ci accompagna ai Piani d'Invrea. Riguadagnato l'asfalto rientriamo a Varazze per concludere l'anello.

Uscire al casello autostradale di Varazze, quindi proseguire per il centro del comune.

From the square of Comune di Varazze, the town hall, ride along the Pontinvrea Provincial road, turn right towards Casanova following the signs to Faie first, and to Pratorotondo refuge later on.
Reach the summit of Monte Beigua and follow the track Alta Via dei Monti Liguri. Pass the first intersection with the track to Veirera and reach the junction indicating Sassello / Casa della Bandita / Colle Bergnon that splits to the right with respect to the AV [Alta Via]; follow the track that enters the impressive beech forest. The descent has no technical difficulty. However, especially during the autumn, it is important to be careful as the foliage settles on the trail surface and hides potential obstacles.
When you reach the junction follow the track on the right, which enters the Castagneto della Lupa and soon takes you to the village of Sassello. Keep going along the scenic dirt road of Foresta della Deiva and, after a short uphill, ride the traverse around the mountain until you pick up the track to the left. Climb to Bric Riund and reach the hamlet of Giovo Ligure. Follow the Sassello Provincial road for a short distance and when you reach the junction, keep right in the direction of Via dei Rocchi. From there follow the link to the AV, always keeping to the right and ignoring every junction. The dirt road passes through the scenic meadows Prati del Prezzemolo. Go across a gravel road and immediately pick up the track to the left, passing through the beautiful area knowns as Polzemola re-joining the Provincial road not far from Alpicella.
Continue on the Provincial road to the crossroads where you will pick up the dirt road in front of you. Follow the single-track to the left that makes a traverse below the Bric Cavetto, arriving not far from the landfill site. Cross the asphalt road for a very short distance until you turn left following the dirt road that takes you to the start of the FS trail. This trail takes you thorough a series of compressions and pedalled sections leading to Piani d'Invrea. Back on asphalt, track back to Varazze to complete the loop.
