Itinerary description

Description:
From Cogoleto head in the direction of Sciarborasca towards Eremo del Deserto. Pass the convent and at the crossroads keep right until you reach the junction with the track to Faie; from there, follow the MTB signs until the asphalt becomes a dirt road, somewhere technical and rough, and it enters the woods.
In the upper section the track passes through panoramic spots with great views, until it reaches Prato Rotondo where, in the refuge with the same name, you can stop for refreshments. Continue on asphalt in the direction of the Monte Beigua summit (1287 m) and follow the sign “+”, start point of a long descent, somewhere technical and challenging, that requires a lot of attention for the presence of hikers but that rewards you with stunning views and with the passage through woods of great natural beauty. The trail takes you back near Faie.
Continue on the dirt road in front of you and then immediately to the left into a short single-track uphill, that links to a wide dirt road and then to the Boavista Express single-track, fast and exciting thanks to a few passages on rock-slabs, never too challenging.
Continue on the Boa Express trail until you reach an exhilarating and impressive canyon, narrow through the vegetation, at the end of which you are back on asphalt not far from Casanova. Go uphill on asphalt for 1.5 km to a clearing on the right where three dirt roads merge: follow the one on the left and the signs to the FS trail.
The trail is characterized by a series of exciting compressions and by a smooth and fast surface. All immersed in the Mediterranean scrub and with really beautiful views.
After the second series of compressions the track enters a short technical section that reaches its climax with a long steep passage known as il mostro [the monster] that drops headlong to the right. This steep passage can be avoided by keeping left. From there, a series of climbs and ups and downs take you quickly to Piani d'Invrea and to one of the longest and most beautiful trails of the VTA (Varazze Trails Area).
Back on asphalt, pedal for a few more kilometres in the direction of Cogoleto, returning to the starting point.
