Itinerary description
This is a really beautiful cross-country tour in the northwest of Rhodes, Greece. The remote valley at the end is one of the most beautiful places I've ever discovered on a mountain bike tour.
Equipment: A hard-tail or full-suspension XC mountain bike will do well. Most of the tour is on unpaved forest tracks, and there are a couple of short bits on secondary roads as well.

Technical skills: Medium. The tracks are in good shape, but you should be able to ride your bike over some loose rocks or gravel.
Physical difficulty: Moderate. It goes up and down the hill, but there are no exhausting climbs and the tour stays below the peaks of the Profitis Ilias massif.
Things to bring: a helmet, 2 litres of water, two bananas or energy bars. There are several tavernas and shops on the way.
Points of interest: dozens of stunning views to the Profitis Ilias massif and to the coast +++ take a deep breath in the forest and enjoy the scent of the pine trees +++ keep your eyes open for wildlife: if you're lucky, you may see deer, partridges, goats, and lizards +++ check out the abandoned italian sanatorium at the village square in Eleousa
Note: Please help to avoid forest fires. Don't smoke in the forest. Take your garbage to the next trash can, and don't scare away the goats :)
