Avdou - Kera - Apotiposi / Αβδού - Κερά - Αποτύπωση

A short but very impressive mountain ascending route, having the village of Avdou as its starting point continuing all the way to Kera, passing through an astonishing gorge parallel to the gorge of Rosa.
Although the road surface in the beginning starts with asphalt and cement concrete, it will be challenging for us in some points, due to the steep gradient and the crumbling road. In the middle of the route a fount of running water is found.

While descending, we need to stop at the historic Kardiotissa Monastery. Further down, the little church of Virgin Apotiposi (Virgin Imprint) is found. On the rock hanging over the church, it is said that the imprint of Virgin Mary’s hand is visible.
While descending, certain attention needs to be paid just after the church of Apotiposi, as the road is stony.


Μικρή αλλά πάρα πολύ εντυπωσιακή διαδρομή στο βουνό με ανηφορική διαδρομή, ξεκινά από το Αβδού μέχρι τη Κερά, περνώντας πάνω από φαράγγι παράλληλο με το φαράγγι της Ρόζας. Αν και στην αρχή υπάρχει άσφαλτος και μετά τσιμέντο, στη συνέχεια ο δρόμος γίνεται δύσκολος και θέλει προσοχή. Στη μέση της διαδρομής υπάρχει πηγή με τρεχούμενο νερό.

Στο κατηφορικό κομμάτι της διαδρομής συνίσταται μια στάση στο ιστορικό μοναστήρι της Καρδιώτισσας. Λίγο πιο κάτω στη μικρή εκκλησία της αποτύπωσης, σε ένα βράχο ο οποίος κρέμεται πάνω από το εκκλησάκι, λέγεται ότι είναι εμφανές το αποτύπωμα του χεριού της Παναγίας. Στη κατάβαση, πρέπει να δοθεί ιδιαίτερη προσοχή μια και ο δρόμος έχει πολλές πέτρες.
