Itinerary description
Auburn State Recreation Area (http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=502) Confluence area. This trail/road is marked for multi-use: bicycle, hiking, running and horseback riding. Most of it is a dirt road with plenty of room for multiple activities. However, this location is very popular with mountain bikers. Therefore, if you are on foot or on a horse, it is probably best to avoid the single track parts of this trail set such as the north half of upper stagecoach or any of the connector trails: tinker cutoff, trail to flood street, trail to mossy rock, etc. The lower stagecoach is a dirt road the entire way. Park either at the end of Russel road or at the confluence.
