Itinerary description
A mixed bag, taken from the Madres-Coronat site. In common with several of their routes it is hard to follow: signposting on the ground is poor and the GPS track does not always correspond to the current route. We did 250m of extra climbing as a result of unsuccessful attempts to follow it. We attempted the descent towards Nyer that is the new FFC route, but found it too narrow for us.
The top part of the descent is reasonably enjoyable, being steep footpath with a handful of entertaining additional obstacles.
The middle part follows a forest track, which is a poor return for the effort spent in gaining altitude.
The final part, descending from Souanyas, is best. It’s a forest footpath with some technical entertainment.
