ASCIANO TRA CAVE DI TRAVERTINO E LE CRETE SENESI

Si parte da Asciano, per proseguire per circa dieci km di asfalto. Lungo il tratto troveremo le famose cave di travertino, tanto care ai nostri illustri antenati: I ROMANI. Superate le cave, dopo qualche km inizieremo una salita che ci porterà presso il magnifico borgo medievale di Serre di Rapolano. Superato, troveremo lo sterrato, che tra magnifici casali, segnalo il casale San Martino uno dei più belli, e magnifici paesaggi, arriveremo a Rapolano Terme. Riprendere l’asfalto per qualche km per poi trovare lo sterrato con il bivio a destra che ci condurrà verso le crete Senesi. Dopo una breve discesa, inizierà una salita che ci porterà presso un casolare abitato, fare la massima attenzione. Qui troverete diversi cani di proprietà degli abitanti del luogo, tra cui un maremmano parecchio agguerrito. Gli animali non saranno troppo contenti di vedervi, a me personalmente mi hanno inseguito per qualche km. Pertanto calma e non vi faranno nulla. Superato l’ostacolo “canino”, attraversato un casale disabitato troveremo le famose crete senesi. Il tratto e breve, circa 2 km. Consiglio vivamente di percorrerlo in periodo asciutti, dato che in periodi invernali, specialmente dopo le piogge, si potrebbe trasformare in una trappola per la vostra mountain bike. Si affosserebbe nella creta collosa che non vi permetterebbe di proseguire in sella. Al termine, si attraversa un casale, percorsi alcune centinaia di metri ritroveremo l’asfalto per Asciano.

ASCIANO BETWEEN QUARRIES TRAVERTINO AND CRETE SENESI

After a short descent, will begin a climb that will take us at a farmhouse where, do it very carefully. Here you will find several dogs owned by local people, including a lot of seasoned Maremma. Animals will not be too happy to see you, to me personally I have pursued for some km. Therefore calm and not do anything.
