Itinerary description
A road climb to the pass, then a service road to the wind farm. Follow a gravel track as far as Vignale, then pass through a gate to a grassy path which reaches the ruined San Francisco convent. The routefinding becomes harder and there is a short fairly technical section. When you meet a road you cross it and join a footpath which runs slightly below it, still quite technical [difficult], reaching another road at a junction. From here there is a choice of two off-road descents to Macinaggio – the rider-built track which keeps close to the road, or the traditional footpath (followed here) which is easy and pleasant.
