Itinerary description
The trail starts 3km North of Antakya city centre (Harry Potter - MRFS guesthouse).
It follows river Asi (Asi Nehri) down its Southern bank till it reaches the sea. A quicker route would be switching to the Northern side of the river at Sinali (there's a brige there) to cut on long meanders on the Southern bank further downstream.
The mouth of the river with the sea is in Samandaq beach, approximately 4km south of the main Samandaq beach spot. If you want to go straight to the main beach spot in Samandaq, you would have to turn right rather than left when entering the city, on the Antakya-Samandaq Yolu (main road between the 2 towns). This stretch of beach is a bit dirtier, has loads of fishermen and has marked nesting sites of sea turtles.
You can reduce the trail length by about 5km by both switching banks at Sinali and aiming for the main Samandaq beach spot rather than the turtle beach.
