Fenouillèdes Valley

The valley between the Corbieres and the Fenouillides escarpments is virtually full of vineyards connected by a maze of interconnecting tracks. Ok if you're a farmer and know the area but the maps just don't quite keep up with reality on the ground.

Enough grapes around here to cater for the rest of the worlds hospital visits for the next century.

Beware riding off road and into the Vineyards of the Fenouilldes searching for a route through. The farmers don't like you going off track into their vineyards and might try to run you down. I had one try to chase me out but fortunately, Mountain bikes move a lot quicker over rocky, rain riven mountain tracks than do Citroen Berlingos!
