Section of the north face of the Transfalgarasan.
With a firm and asphalt in better conditions, by far, than the section of the south face.
An interesting route and to enjoy the motorcycle. It is advisable to do it early to avoid traffic that always breaks your rhythm.
By the way, during the descent I did yesterday afternoon, on the edge of one of the straights there was a bear with her cub. Nice scene.
The southern leg of this route I did not enjoy so much. To say that it would be spectacular if they corrected the poor condition of the road: soft patches, broken asphalt, potholes and a multitude of speed bumps. A good layout of curves is impossible due to the permanent changes and damage to the wearing course along them. To that you add the traffic and you have the cocktail to spend a bittersweet time.
It will be a spectacular route when the above is corrected, since you cross jewels of nature when you cross the Arges riverbed, narrow, cut, Lake Vidraru (a small jewel surrounded by forests and mountains) and the last stretch of ascent to Lake Balea (Balea Lac), which also involves going through an 800 m tunnel. At the exit of it you have that beautiful mountain lake, the start/arrival point of many mountain routes. Among others, the one that takes you to the highest peak in Romania, the Moldoveanu.
