Itinerary description
Easy start with good coffee in Gnommalath. Beautiful mainroad section at high velocity to Nongchan. Lot of big trucks but great road.
From Nongchan 40+ km of dirt road, sometimes up to 10 cm deep dust making progress slow. Hot, dry and dusty in early May. Very rural area, high poverty and few facilities. Cool river crossing of about 80 meters at Saang, up to 60 cm deep. Can be avoided by taking one of the little boats to ferry across. Bualapha a friendly town with some more services and a good mechanic.
