Ruta 161. A orillas del Duero

La CL-117 tiene un trazado encantador poco habitual en las nacionales. Mientras se rueda por la ribera del Duero da la sensación de estar navegando por un pinar, uno de los más extensos y abigarrados de toda España. El paisaje se abre en el entorno del embalse, donde los pinos dan paso a dehesas pobladas de encinas y robles. Muy agradable recorrido

Mi opinión

Para mí, lo mejor de esta ruta es la excursión que hice desde Duruelo de la Sierra hacia el nacimiento del río Duero

Al llegar a esta población, me desvié hacia la derecha por un impresionante pinar de pino rojo, un parque precioso, por una carretera de estupendo asfalto de sentido único. Se llega a un desvío que indica Peñas Blancas donde se puede hacer un corto tramo off road hasta las inmediaciones del nacimiento del río Duero, con un desnivel de 200 metros. El off road no me ha llevado hasta el nacimiento de Duero pero te mete en un pinar encantador

The road CL-117 has a charming layout, unusual in the national roads. As you drive along the banks of the Douro, you have the sensation of navigating through a pine forest, one of the most extensive and variegated in all of Spain. The landscape opens up around the reservoir, where the pines give way to pastures populated by oaks and holm oaks. Very pleasant route

My opinion

For me, the best part of this route is the excursion I made from Duruelo de la Sierra to the source of the Duero river

Arriving at this village, I took a detour to the right through an impressive pine forest of red pine, a beautiful park, on a great one-way asphalt road. You reach a detour indicating Peñas Blancas where you can make a short off road section to the vicinity of the source of the Douro river, with a difference in altitude of 200 meters. The off road didn't take me to the source of the Douro, but it gets you into a lovely pine forest
