The coastline to the south of the island of Lombok is not yet heavily exploited by mass tourism and offers a pleasant surprise in which you discover several bays to the east of the small town of Kuta (not to be confused with the macroexploited Kuta of Bali, which it has nothing to do with), which one more charming. They are beaches of very fine white sands, with a blue water difficult to find in other places. Touring it on a motorcycle is very simple, even if you do not master this vehicle too much, as is our case, since traffic is practically non-existent. In Kuta there are several very nice little family accommodations, in many of which you can arrange motorcycle rental for quite reasonable prices. According to the time of the tide the beaches change radically, being their best moment at low tide.
The beach where we stayed the longest (and perhaps the one with the most infrastructure) is Tanjung Aan, a large bay of almost impossible white sand. Here we took a short walk to the panoramic point of Bukit Bongo, from which you get beautiful views of the entire bay. In the afternoon we approached a kind of platform as a jetty. Before returning to Kuta, we approach the small town of Gerupuk, the farthest point to which we arrive in this small foray to know a little of the southern coast of this beautiful island of Lombok.
