Itinerary description
Quoile Castle is a 17th Century towerhouse, now ruined, situated on the banks of Quoile River (just outside Downpatrick), the site is exceptionally pleasant with plenty of seated areas on the banks of the river. The site also boasts a countryside centre. Saul is an early Christian site, supposedly where St. Patrick first founded his churches in Ireland in 432AD. The current church is a 20th Century rendition of an Early Christian site, not very well done. But the site does have an original holy well.
