Itinerary description

We arrived at 12:00 from Battambang, then we went to the hotel and we rented a scooter. At 2:30 pm we were at the ticket office, where we started our 3D2N tour in Siem Reap to visit Angkor.
The first day we visited Banteay Srei. It is a bit far from the ticket office, more than 35 km, therefore be sure to have brought gasoline and to start in time before it closes (5.30 pm)
The second temple of the first day was Pre Rut, at the sunset. Really amazing!
Second day we wake up at 4:15 to visit Angkor Wat with the dawn. You need to be there very very early and stay in one of the two little lakes in front of the temple. Then at 6:40 back to the hotel for the breakfast.
We restarted our second day tour at 8:40, visiting the Bayon; consider at least 1:40 minutes to visit it.
Then we went to Neak Pean. Consider 30 minutes for it.
The following was Ta Som, famous for the tree wrapping a door. You can see it at the very end of the site. Therefore, enter and go straight to the end. Consider about 30-45 minutes
Next there’s Banteay Kdei with a tree growing in the wall. More or less 30 minutes
Then we went to Ta Prohm temple, with a lot of trees growing in the walls and and the whole building.
In the end we came back to Angkor Wat to visit it with the light of sunset. We were there at around 16:00 and our visit lasted at least 1:45.
The third day we started a little bit later, around 11:30. The first temple to visit is the Phnom Bakheng. Opening hours 5:00 am to 7 pm. It is suggested to visit it during the sunset, but you should arrive around 4 pm to be sure to find a place in the top. Indeed only 300 person at a time are allowed to visit it. We decided to go there in the morning, when’s there where very few people. There is a nice walk under the trees to reach the temple. Consider 1 hour to visit it.
The second temple of the day is Preah Khan, which could take about 1:30 minutes
Next temple is the last one, where we watched the sunset: Phnom Krom. You should be there at about 4:30 pm
Then we came back to the scooter rental (which is a shop which sells bags and luggage)

Note: you’ll read in the Internet that it is not allowed to rent a scooter. This is not correct, because we were able to do it. The truth it is that you could not, but it is allowed. Remember that for the scooter 125 cc you need international driving license. If police stop you at the police control they will ask for it. If you don’t have it you need to pay something like $10.
