Itinerary description
Old trail that was used in the past to bring elephants and goods from Mae hong son to Chiangmai. Used to be unpaved all the way from Samoeng, but the Samoeng-Wat Chan section was paved a few years ago. Not suitable for bikes with hard suspension. Some trail riding experience needed. Very steep inclines and many ruts. First 2 hours from Wat Chan is 90% unpaved. Last 1 hour before MHS is paved but with very steep sections. Stunning views. Bring snacks and drinks from Wat chan/MHS as not much for sale along the trail. Do not ride this trail in the rainy season unless riding off road bike with knobby tires....

Restaurant at our starting point. Good place to have a meal before starting the 3-4 hours ride to Mae hong son.
