Beautiful Beaches to Ancient Rain Forest

We hired a couple of Motorcycles on Koh Samui and headed from the beautiful sandy beaches, inland to explore the Rainforest of Khao Sok National Park. Koh samui is very busy so the start of the trip was a bit of Queuing and slow moving island traffic. Then from the ferry port we caught the car ferry to the main land. The next 60 miles is main roads. Long straight Duel carriageways as you cross the plains towards the mountains. Not much traffic for the most part makes good progress. The last 40 to 50 miles is the duel in this routes Crown. We pick up Route 401 heading north 20 miles after leaving the ferry port but then leave it again to bypass Surat Thani town. When we pick it back up again we start climbing up into the mountains and the rain forest. Some beautiful scenery, good quiet roads and although it was raining heavily on the one trip the area is outstandingly beautiful. When you get to the rainforest we recommend contacting Mr Bao. He runs Khao Sok Valley lodge which is cheap, clean and offers good food and covered parking for Motorcycles. He also has the Khao Sok Good View Resort which offers all mod cons, a very good standard of decor and exceptional service. Mr Bao is a very well known local guide who can take care of everything you need while you stay in the Rainforest. Khao Sok Good View Resort and Khao Sok Valley Lodge are both on Trip Advisor.
