Whale Watching Kaikorua 2016-08-14 13:34

We left the interesting city of Kaikoura for the last day in South Island. There it is where whales can be seen more easily, specifically sperm whales, dolphins, seals ...

I will not explain the whole story, but if one day you go, we suggest you decide before and book the boat that leads to see the whales. If you do not see it, they will return 80% ... and if it's a holiday (it was Sunday) it was a miracle to find four places so that everything was full.

By bus, take you to the port, and from there you come out hoping to see these giant cetaceans. They are certainly very controlled, because every 60 minutes they need to breathe, they are very clear where they go (places with a lot of depth and very close to the coast, at this point Kaikoura is exceptional given the grave that is right in front of some currents that bring you a lot of food), they also have some good engines that once detected and go at high speed.

Soon after leaving, we saw the first. Ep !! What impresses you to see a big beast like that, which is making a supplier every once in a while ... a certain moment they say "prepare the cameras" and in a few seconds he gets ripped off, raises his tail and sinks from new Like that we saw four.

And in the middle of the session, we came to visit hundreds of curious dolphins. Not one, neither two, nor ten, nor one hundred ... there were many more playing to catch the ship, to pass it underneath, to make competition jumps in front of us, to turn around to see us better. Really exciting

It was worth it, and a lot!, Wait.

Health and Legs !!
