Itinerary description
More or less at the spur of the moment, Masha and I travel to the Netherlands for a weekend in Brabant and Holland.
On Saturday, we make a hike through the “Loonse en Drunense Duinen” National Park in the province of Brabant. This park features large expanses of forest, heath and inland dunes and is a place I like to return to every once and a while. After our hike, we continue to the small town of IJsselstein where we spend the night after a late evening visit of the town center.
On Sunday, we travel to Haarlem in the province of North-Holland where we meet up with our Austrian friends. We rent a motor boat and make a scenic tour around the town center. After lunch, we take a train to Amsterdam and do some sightseeing along the canals on foot. If my memory serves me well, my last visit to Amsterdam was no less than 42 years ago, another visit to this city was definitely a long time coming!
