- Once you get to Milford Sound, the best way to see the fiord in all its glory is to board a cruise and get out on the water. Milford Sound cruises must be experienced to be believed. The dazzling cliffs around you, the darkness of the water and the icy alpine peaks hovering over everything combine to create a dazzling picture.
- There are Milford Sound cruises departing throughout the day, giving you the opportunity to experience the fjord in all its different forms. However, most cruises depart in the middle of the day or afternoon.
Choosing a cruise can be scary given the wide range of types of Milford Sound cruises and different operators to choose from.
- We did it in the first hour of the day, which is much less full and you can enjoy more peacefully.

Beautiful sight. Feeling lucky cos the night before it was raining. So it was absolutely stunning to see streaks of waterfalls aplenty running down from the mountain. Saw 2 young seal lazing on large black rocks too. Simple teabreak served on board. Highly recommended.
