Mildford Sound Fiord 2016-08-06 10:37
When traveling to South Island of NZ you have a must-have appointment to Milford Sound (in Maori Piopiotahi), in Fiordland. The writer Rudyard Kiplingla called the eighth wonder of the world. Many tourists (550,000) arrive every year, some like us by car or bus, others by plane or helicopter from Queenstown. We stayed to sleep at Te Anau and we got up very early in order to find the least traffic to the complicated road that leads to it.
The waterfalls that fall from the mountains that close the Milford Sound fjord are really impressive. We saw several seals with the sun for the first time on our trip. Upon good morning, we entered a little into the Tasman Sea.
There are several boats that make this exit, ours was very beautiful and we enjoyed a spectacular patterning, despite its enormous size (in summer it has cabins to make outings one night), it came to a few inches from a vertical rock wall ... impressive!
He made us an exceptional day, a sun that was dizzy. Our good friend, Ramon de Giroguies, who is a good connoisseur of NZ and has helped us in the preparation of the trip - thanks Ramon! - to see the pictures he told us "I thought that days did not exist in Milford Sound." I mention this because it is raining about 200 days a year, a total of more than 6,800 liters! It is considered the most humid place in NZ.
The photographs bear witness. If you go there, do not miss it!
Health and Legs !!
