Telegraph Creek near Alva, FL
Leisurely slow paddle upstream from the Calusa Blueway launch on River Road. (Hwy 78).The launch has limited parking, enough for 4 or 5 cars. No bathrooms. Very scenic and not very populated on this part of the creek. Old sweeping live oak trees, draping Spanish moss, natural scrub vegetation, cypress knees in a few places. The current was very slow today, water levels rather low but no problem navigating. The farther east you go, the narrower it becomes. If the water levels are high, there can be a very strong current. I recorded in in hiking mode by accident. Edited when I returned but not sure distance is accurate.
