Itinerary description
13 people in 13 single crafts braved high humidity and low to no wind conditions on a 11.66 statue mile downstream paddle.
Port Barre offers concrete boat ramp with a small grass wing. And aluminum slotted canoe kayak launch is also available. No RR but adequate parking.
Proceeded upstream the Bayou Courtablea to the inlet which creates the beginning, mile zero of the Bayou Teche. Shade became really good and the water volume flow was also quick, didn't note actual current speed yet overall speed was 2.9 mph without hard paddling.
Midway the shade started thin out then got better. The last 3 or so miles were very warm with no mentionable amount of wind.
Was able to use small coulee inlets to get rid of water ballast. The further south you go the thicker the backyards become.
Leonville offers a concrete ramp and an aluminum slotted canoe kayak launch. Now with HC RR's, new parking and an elevated pavilion with commercial vinyl coated picnic tables.

Get rid of water ballast!
No interest to go up Little Teche Bayou?
What's this 'Little Teche' you speak of? At about the 3/4 mark, the get-home-itis was very strong due to rising heat.
Ahh, I see it now. Would that be a good high water candidate?
Me, I don know. Robert would!

Might be able to paddle 3/4 to 1 mile but only in high water. Eventually clogs with tree limbs and vegetation.
