Itinerary description
We arranged a trip through Kayakasia Philippines which is based in the town of Maribojoc, Bohol. They provided 8 inflatable INNOVA Solar kayaks enough for a group of 13 plus two guides. This would normally be a fairly easy paddle, depending on how strong your partner is, but we ran into a fairly stiff headwind and choppy waters so it took a "moderate" amount of effort. Departing from the town of Panglao on the island of Panglao we crossed Panglao Bay towards the island of Pungtud. Virgin Island is just a sand bar that isn't visible until you're right on it. It's busy with tourists during the day but we had the whole 100 meters of sand to ourselves after sunset. We were greeted by a couple grilling a sumptious feast and the cold beer never tasted better as we watched the fading light out in the middle of nowhere. We opted for the pumpboat (motorized outrigger) ride back to shore. Cost was about $35 U.S. pp. Suggest waterproofing your phone and/or dry bag along with long-sleeve water shirt, paddling/cycling gloves and headlamp.
