Itinerary description
One of four legs of Serene 18 Paddle Trail. This leg was more strenuous, not from paddling, but from boat portage. Had to park up the hill and carry boats about 150 yards to the launch. Don't forget your kayak dolly(we did)!
Launch and recovery is nice, but be VERY mindful of current that may carry you to, and either under or over the Canal Headgates and Waterfall. Be sure to check water levels for flow rate before launching. Not for the novice.
The island with the donkeys and goats is private property, so do not get out of your kayak. Be sure to bring some carrots or such to feed them, though.
