Itinerary description
Kayak on River Severn.
The trip started at Atcham by the Mytton and Mermaid. If you walk over the Roman Bridge from the Mytton and turn left, walk 50 yards there is a gravel bank with a bench where you can set up, but beware it can be a bit shallow if there has been little rain. You can park in the lay by on the road that runs down the side of Attingham Park.
Part way down there is an island in the stream, we tried going to the left of the island but found it blocked due to a fallen tree. We stopped for a sandwich just before the old bridge at Cressage, but there are plenty of sand/gravel banks further down river by the meanders.
We dis-embarked approx 150 metres after the Buildwas road bridge (on the left hand side) - It leads you back up to the Buildwas Road on a public footpath where there is a lay-by. The landing area is often used by fishermen so care is needed.
