Itinerary description

Windy day kayak from beautiful Quiet Waters Park to Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse. The sailboats were out in force. It's a 300-400 meter walk from the parking area to the launch, so bring your wheels or dolly; it would be a long carry. This is an easy paddle if it's calm, but there's basically a wind tunnel that runs north to south down the bay, which can make things much more interesting. There are many ospreys, great blue herons and other wildlife. This is a popular anchorage for cargo vessels, so keep an eye out at all times! Check out our trip reports at http://www.brkayak.com.
