Itinerary description

Pegnitz is a vivid, enjoyable river without particular difficulties (but it does require basic maneuvering skills). There are some obstacles (couple of fallen trees and two beaver dams) and 4 or 5 portages, which are quite evident (and marked with small labels on the trees). It's not a wild river - there are lots of houses, little villages, Biergarten, etc but the surroundings are very picturesque.

For those with folding kayaks - most of the slips/landings are accessible by train :)
