Itinerary description
This is the same nest we approached from Rookery Bay last Wednesday, but we saw a juvenile eagle testing its wings this time. The juveniles are just as big but don't have the white head that adults do. He was perched on a branch taking short flights. Good to see the population growing.
Another great morning for a paddle with an incoming tide that ensured we didn't get stuck at low tide. Also saw two swallow-tailed kites, which were too fast to get good pictures. Lots of tour groups were leaving as we got back to the launch.
