Itinerary description
Canoe from Rte 205 DEC fishing access (off I-88 exit 13) to Otego town hall. It's a peaceful section through farmland and woods with very little visible development but some highway noise. 6.3 miles took us about 3 hours with breaks.
Water very low today (September), so lots of towing boat over rapids and shoals. One real rapids at Otego creek. Some deep still spots lower down around the S curves. Beautiful cliffs at base of Calder Hill -- spot marked near end. Spotted many birds including great blue heron, green heron, kingfisher, egret, killdeer, hordes of migrating ducks and one injured goose.
Recorded 9/13/20
