Itinerary description
It rained last week. The swamps are flooded--time to go paddling an old favorite trip. The trail south to Duke's Lake is marked (although many of the markers are down, so be careful). Still, the loop back around west and north is unmarked, and every time we do, it's by dead reckoning--sort of west a while, then sort of north a bit and then sort east a while until we intersect our outbound track. Hard to get lost because US 41 is always to the north, and the "Green Wall" is to the south. We did see two gators from the truck on the way home. The one in the canal was big and healthy. The one on the road didn't look as good.
