Itinerary description
Nice, easy paddle in the swamp. Very nice launch and recovery at Stephen C. Foster State Park. If you're going to paddle the swamp in the summer, I suggest you paddle the west side as it is more shaded than the east side. Paddle from the launch to the turn off to MInnie's Lake is open water with no shade. Saw many alligators swimming across, and they ignored us. Once in the trail, it was a very enjoyable paddle with plenty of shade. Paddle was against the current, so the return trip was even more enjoyable.
Canoe shelter at Minnie's Lake was really nice, and even had a port-a-let.
