Itinerary description
Marco Jolley to Gulf and return via Capri. 6:18 am launch and paddle out around Sand Dollar/Tiger Tail. High tide was about 5:45 am so we paddled out on the beginning of an outgoing tide. There were small swells as we went around and the seas were getting bigger so we turned and headed back in. By the time we reached the turn ( very short time ) the seas were higher and we made a longer turning arc to miss some of the chop. We turned toward the tip of Capri and our initial return was adjacent to Capri. The tidal change was only about 1.5 feet but there was a lot of swift adverse current on the return with a lot of chop at the point of merger with Tarpon Bay.
