Itinerary description
12 humans along with 2 canines launched 12 floating devices in low 50's temps with no wind. Located at the very new October? 2023 East Lexie bridge with boat launch located one half mile SE of Lexie, MS 39667. Literal clapping and cheering was heard from the non inebriated not new paddle bus passengers as it arrived up to and crossed the new bridge. But it was the new concrete 200' long boat launch that was the cause for joy. The old launch situation was an undesirable broken stairs future injury kinda situation. The new launch is concrete with rip rap and gravel/sand wings. Caution around some construction debris underneath bridge. Note: Not all boats on boat trailer in opening image were launched.
Proceeded down stream at a healthy overall net speed of 2.74 mph without any need for propulsion paddling. 90% of water interactions was for strategic obstacle positioning, both above and below the water line. Small trickling of water could be heard as the raw bank was weeping into the waterway. Winds were negligible but that beautiful fall low angle sun coupled with a severe clear sky made sunglasses very valuable, I succeeded in bringing zero. Same with the hat. Another main attraction was the lack of human presence and structures.
Two breaks were had on the sand and smooth gravel banks while headed downstream where some good convos occurred while resting. Overall the trip was just over 5.6 miles and took slightly more than 4 hours to complete.

Rcommend the $15 boat plus person shuttle. The $8 primitive campsite with restroom was equitable. Hammock camping seems ample, all primitive located directly next to with access to the Bogue Chitto. Not to mention pull out facilities, see pics.
For future indirect reference the closest water gauge is Bogue Chitto @ Tylertown, MS which was 5.75. Temp at pull out was low 60's.
Overall a very enjoyable paddle on a low water, spring fed chitto, quick shuttle, good weather and great companions.

Let get these things wet. Brand new boat launch that brought a bunch of previous paddlers to very elevated levels of excitement. Apparently the previous launch had dilapidated stairs and left a lot to be desired.

Many obstacles to maneuver around, very impressed by some other paddlers paddling style, so fluid.

Tall bank, outside corner, increased current, plus debris, hold on...
Shortly afterwards, in a situation similar this one, one boat was capsized along with it inhabitant.

Pull out at Da end
Fellow paddlers were very helpful and expedited the uploads. Was able to drive down to the river on a concrete loop, load your boat on your vehicle and drive up and out on the other, very handy. Canoe and Trail Outpost https://maps.app.goo.gl/Jppd5Mz1Mgc5U5698

Sweet paddle! Quite a load of boats there.
It was a nice paddle. Only 12 of those more than 12 boats hit the water. I assume it's so each tandem trailer has some weight to minimize road vibration, road noise and oscillation.
