Itinerary description
A pretty little lake that we did twice. No waves or wakes! Surface acreage claims range from 75 to 120 acres. My 3-mile track traces the shore / buoy lines when the lake is full. The shore is mostly treelined with several sandy beaches, a few small coves, some cattails to add interest and a creek inlet. I went up Dry Creek until it got too shallow and I thought that part of the paddle was the prettiest. The dam and spillways are roped off, as is a swimming area next to the ramp. You can safely swim in the rest of the lake too.
We only had a brief headwind strong enough to slow down the paddleboarders.
Wildlife included red-winged blackbird, ducks, geese and an eagle. There were people fishing but we didn’t notice any catching.
Motorized craft are limited to low speed which makes for a calm paddling experience.
There is a restroom near the boat ramp in the adequate parking lot. The resort has a store where you can buy ice-cream!
Pets are welcome. Access is by good quality paved roads. They have rangers enforcing 5MPH through the campground. There is an entrance gatehouse that is not always manned.
Members get in free with guests for paddling, which is what we did. Reserved camping is available to nonmembers. I don’t know what is required to just access the lake for nonmembers.

My phone quit logging due to the heat when the sun hit my dry bag on the first return trip. I didn’t hug the shore on all of the second lap. So I spliced together the tracks from my two laps and adjusted the spliced time of day and direction of travel. Programming comes in handy!
