Itinerary description
Easy paddle on beautiful lake at the best Louisiana state park. Paddled from East Landing boat launch, which is one of three canoe trailheads along paddle trail, up to Walker Branch, Long Island, Turtle Island and back to East Landing. Checked out the only paddle-in campsite in the park. Was visited by a bald eagle, which is getting to be a common occurrence.
East Landing is a self-service fee area with a restroom and nice boat ramp. Can launch canoes and kayaks on either side of ramp, with no problems.
