Low water levels made this trip moderately difficult. We knew levels were low and prepared for many drags across gravel shoals, and were not disappointed. Actually getting out and walking was a nice break from sitting in a kayak for 7 hours. This is a beautiful river and cannot wait to do it again when water levels are up.

The drive to the put-in point was down an extremely dusty road, especially trailing our friends, so much so had to change the engine air filter. Sometimes we were in "white-out" dust conditions. Area had seen any rain for a long time.

Thanks to Kings River Outfitters for a parking spot to take out.

Hard to believe that this 8 mile paddle took 7 hrs! I thought we would finish in about 2.5 hrs.! I am used to paddling...lol
Anyway, there was a lot of kayak dragging over the river bottomdue to low water. But, it wasn't bad and the water was refreshing on the feet. We also took our time and stopped to picnic. No wonder our friends said it was a float!
