Itinerary description
Fav paddle. Using an outgoing tide 3hrs before low tide. Launch Wellington point, follow channel markers, go west across channel. Stop on Green Island at Nics Point. Great little sandy beach. Approx hr paddle. Then across to St Helena Island. Approx 50mins. Great piece of Brisbane Colonial history. You can only access ruins thru guided tours. I have done this a couple times on previous paddles. Fascinating insight.
Wait for an hr after LT at Wellington point before launching to head back. Cut cross to the east towards channel markers , as there well be less than half metre draw around Green and you'll bottom out. Stay close to channel markers and navigate towards Wellington Point jetty. The channel between Green Island and Wellington point, can be very busy so watch out, and time your crossing.
Beacon to Beacon have maps to navigate the channel markers.
