Itinerary description
Our last day started with low clouds, but soon the sky opened up again. The lake was quiet, allowing us to enjoy the mountainous landscape and wonderful autumn colours. We paddled relaxed for some 3 hours to get back to Bahia Bombilla, feeling somewhat tired but extremely satisfied. And the dream accomplished. We promised each other to come back to kayak Lago Fagnano for the final stretch.
Advise: Lago Fagnano coastline consists of rocky formations, sand stone cliffs, impenetrable forests and (mostly) pebble beaches, making long stretches almost inaccessible to find refuge. Rocks are shattered along the coast, sometimes well hidden from first sight. Keep an eye on those, especially in late and early daylight. Bring more food than you think you need, and plan extra time. Remember, Lago Fagnano commands, always. Be careful. And have fun.
