Itinerary description
Expedition Lago Fagnano started as a wild dream. Walter (Rayen Aventura, Ushuaia) for a long time wanted to circumnavegate the lake - 120 kilometers long and up to 10 kilometers wide - in kayak. I, Nicoliene (Ternaround.com, Ushuaia) joined Walter to support him in accomplishing his dream. And yes, for the sheer adventure too.
We left one late sunny afternoon from Bahia Bombilla, where the wind increased rapidly before we even made it to the lake itself. Once there, we made a detour testing our cameras and filming our surroundings with GoPro. Expedition Lago Fagnano had officially started.
Going straight against the wind, we paddled close to the shore until our first orange sunset. Our first camp we set up in between Bahias Palacios and Torito.
