Itinerary description
For a single day activity, this combination certainly deserves a very difficult rating. When you are all finished, you will have trail run approximately 7 miles and paddled approximately 10 miles.
Begin anywhere in the Crosswinds area. As you can see on the map, I started at the fishing pier just past the bridge. Paddle 5 miles to New Hope Overlook. Trail run the blue and red trails for around a 7 mile total. The trail is fairly good but underused. Expect to see trees down and watch for spider webs.
The real challenge awaits as you must paddle 5 miles back to the put-in. This final leg is brutal and is what warrants the very difficult rating.
