Itinerary description

Final day of a 5 day, 4 night canoe trip in Algonquin park that started in Whitney. This leg of the trip starts from a very nice campsite on Head Lake. It is a short 5 minute paddle to the start of the portage. The portage is 1640 meters long with some climb to it, peaking just before you arrive at the lake. Cache Lake has numerous islands which make navigation a bit tricky but we headed north and spotted the access point (and our car) easily. It was a great day and an easy way to end our trip. We had plenty of time for car shuffling, canoe return, a hike, as well as the drive home.
