Itinerary description
(en) Nice kayak tour on the Hanelei River. The river landscape is nothing special, but beautiful. We rent the kayak at Kayak Kaua'i, because they have direct access to the river. First we went all the possible way upstream and after that downstream to the ocean. If it is calm you can paddle there also inside the reef. More challenging than this tour is the 28 km kayak tour along Na Pali from Ha'ena Beach Park to Polihale. We did that in summer 2006, but without GPS logger.
(de) Nette Kayak Tour auf dem Hanelei River. Die Flusslandschaft ist zwar nichts besonderes, aber trotzdem schön. Wir mieteten die Boote bei Kayak Kaua'i, weil sie einen direkten Zugang zum Fluss haben. Zuerst paddelten wir soweit es ging stromaufwärts und anschließend abwärts bis zum Ozean. Wenn der Seegang es zulässt kann man dort auch noch innerhalb des Riffs paddeln. Eine mehr herausfordernde Tour in dieser Gegend, die für immer im Gedächtnis bleibt ist die 28 km lange Kayak Tour entlang der Na Pali von Ha'ena Beach Park bis Polihale. Wir unternahmen diese im Sommer 2006 - noch ohne GPS Logger.
