Itinerary description
This is an easy outing from downtown Vancouver at Granville Island in False Creek out into English Bay and around to Siwash Rock, about as far as a human powered crafts is allowed to go toward the First Narrows of Burrard Inlet. The tides under the Lion's Gate Bridge (First Narrows) are potentially too strong for any human-powered craft, and this trip ends well shy of that vortex.
This route is half urban and half adjacent to one of the largest wild urban parks in North America. It never ventures far from the shore, and the shoreline is almost always landable/beachable in case of panic or distress. The waters along Stanley Park are also generally shallow and wadable. Watch out for shallow rocks during lower tides...actually always.

Siwash Rock
The turnaround point is this obvious vertical pillar of rock off Stanley park and just in sight of the First Narrows of Burrard Inlet and the Lion's Gate Bridge.
