Itinerary description
Glacier lagoon and you have to be careful if the icebergs tip over.
To get there you drive about 370 km from Reykjavík. The gravel path (not to bad) is about 11km west of Jökulárlón. you turn to the left on to the path/road before you come to the river Fjallsá ( a glacier river). The path is 1,1 km to the shore of the lagoon and it is easy to launch the kayaks . On the opposite side of the river there are boat excursions and excellent service but to be alone on the lagoon you need to be there in the evening when operations end.
