Itinerary description
Neat paddle. The launch area is rough (big gravel), but the canal bank is smooth, sandy, and shallow. We launched at about 0630, and it was quiet and peaceful, but the firing range was going full blast when we returned. You can hear it in the videos.
Lots of unique vegetation in the first mile and a half. We wanted to turn east when we hit the north end of the first long canal, but they've erected a berm there. I posted a newer aerial below because it doesn't look like the Wikiloc aerial. You have to turn west at the "tee."
This is a great paddle if you have a fast kayak—long, wide, straight stretches of water and lovely scenery. And we only saw four alligators (one was just the glowing eyes in the dark). Lots of birds,
